Humboldt Instrument Company is a full service machine shop. Our 30,000 square foot facility is equipped with a wide variety of machine tools to handle both small and large parts. Many of our machine tools have repeatability of .0001 or less and our tools are well maintained.
Humboldt’s Quality Department operates two coordinate measuring machines (CMM’s) that are calibrated yearly. First Article, In-Process and Final Inspections are performed in a temperature-controlled environment to minimize errors from ambient conditions. A complete set of inspection equipment (thread gages, gage pins, etc.) is available for shop use and a duplicate set for “Inspection Room” only.
Humboldt’s CNC Department is tooled with state of the art CNC vertical and horizontal mills and CNC lathes. These machines are complimented with a wide array of tool holders and support equipment.
Humboldt’s Manual Department includes knee mills, engine lathes, grinders, and presses. We have dedicated areas for straightening and polishing.
Humboldt’s Programming Department uses the latest Mastercam software run on powerful workstations. We support surface modeling up to 5 axes and are able to import many file formats to aid in the accuracy of drawings and finished parts.
Humboldt’s Assembly and Vacuum Leak Check operations are located in clean temperature controlled areas.
Humboldt’s Welding area is equipped with overhead bridge cranes and custom welding tables to support TIG welding over a wide range of materials. We specialize in aluminum and stainless steel vacuum chambers as well as wire fed MIG for steel fabrications.
