Humboldt Instrument Company, located in San Leandro, California is owned and operated by Robert and John Day.
Founded in 1951 by Alan M. Day and George F. Jones, Humboldt Instrument has a long history in contract machining for a diversified array of industries. George and Alan created a successful organization by providing their customers with high quality precision machining and excellent customer service. Over the years, they continually upgraded their capabilities and expanded their facilities to become one of the Bay Area’s premier machine shops. Through their hard work and high ethical standards, a “bench mark” was established, that will be a constant reminder of how we should build for the future.
Humboldt’s motto is “Quality First”. We are firmly committed to providing quality second to none. Our employees (the heart of our company) are highly trained professionals who strive to provide our customers with high quality precision machined parts and assemblies. Quality and Process Control are inherent in our daily operations and are paramount in our commitment to provide the high quality our customers demand.
As manufacturing standards have evolved, Humboldt has evolved with them. Our advanced CAM/CAD software gives us the ability to work in 2D or 3D and supports five axis machining. We are proficient at importing data directly from solid model files and are able to integrate CAD data with CMM inspection. Our CNC equipment is up to date and well maintained. We support large footprint five axis horizontal machining, four and five axis vertical machining and CNC turning.
Additional capabilities include, vacuum leak detection, TIG / MIG welding, temperature controlled CMM inspection and assembly.
Now entering our sixth decade, we look forward to the challenges of the future. We’re poised to meet these challenges and to continue meeting the demands of our valued customers.
